Your first cut

Four steps, in the order the app is laid out.

1. Import your footage

Drop the files into the Media room, or use the import button. They land in a bin and stay there for the project.

2. Generate the transcript

Open the Transcript room and run it on a clip. Every spoken word is aligned to the timeline, so the text and the picture stay in step.

3. Cut by selecting words

Select a phrase and delete it. The video goes with it. Deleted text stays struck through and can be restored, and clicking a word moves the playhead to it.

4. Fine-tune and export

Move to the Edit room for trims, effects and transitions, then to Deliver for a format and a preset. The render runs in a queue, so a long export does not hold up the editor.
